3M™ issued a Stop Use and Inspect Notice for select models of 3M™ Protecta® Self-Retracting Lifelines due to a manufacturing issue that could result in the self-retracting lifeline not engaging properly.
University units in possession of 3M™ Protecta® Self-Retracting Lifelines must take immediate action to identify whether the equipment is affected by the manufacturing issue. Review the instructions in the notice to identify the manufacture date and lot number, and perform an inspection if needed.
