Health and Safety Committee Training Program Online
Intended audience
This course is required for elected and appointed members of the UW Organizational and U-Wide Health and Safety Committees.
Description
The University's health and safety committee member training contains two modules.
Module 1: Health and Safety Committee Member Training: This module teaches an overview of the University of Washington’s Health and Safety committee structure, your role and responsibilities as a committee member, expectations for member communication, meeting management, and safety resources available to all members.
Module 2: Five Why Root Cause Analysis: This module teaches you how to use the Five Why technique to find the root causes of accidents, incidents, or near misses so that they can be prevented from recurring. This technique is used in incident investigations and supervisors can document their findings in the UW Online Accident Reporting System (OARS).
